Spray the air fryer basket lightly with cooking oil.

Mix buttermilk, lemon juice, 1 tablespoon salt, and pepper in a bowl.

Cut chicken into 1/2-inch thick, 3-4 inch long strips. Soak in marinade for 1 hour to overnight in the fridge.

Combine flour, baking powder, garlic powder, paprika, and 1 teaspoon salt. Add 1/4 cup marinade to create lumps.

Remove chicken from marinade, let excess drip off. Coat thoroughly in flour mixture.

Place 4-5 tenders in air fryer. Spray with cooking oil. Cook at 350°F for 6 minutes, flip, cook 6 more minutes until golden and 165°F inside.

Repeat with remaining tenders. Garnish with parsley if desired. Serve hot with BBQ sauce.
