Beef Tips and Gravy (Print)

Tender beef sirloin simmered with mushrooms in a rich homemade gravy - perfect comfort food for any weeknight dinner.

# Ingredients:

01 - 1.5 kg beef sirloin or tenderloin, cut into bite-sized chunks
02 - 2 tablespoons olive oil
03 - 1 onion, diced
04 - 2 cloves garlic, minced
05 - 225 g mushrooms, sliced
06 - 500 ml beef broth
07 - 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
08 - 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
09 - Salt and freshly ground pepper to taste
10 - Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

# Directions:

01 - Heat olive oil in a large skillet or Dutch oven over medium-high heat. Add diced onions and cook until translucent, about 3-4 minutes.
02 - Add minced garlic and sliced mushrooms to the skillet. Cook until mushrooms are golden brown and moisture has evaporated, approximately 5-6 minutes.
03 - Push vegetables to the side of the skillet and add beef chunks. Cook until browned on all sides, about 5-6 minutes.
04 - Sprinkle flour over the beef and vegetables. Stir well to coat everything evenly. Slowly pour in beef broth, stirring constantly to prevent lumps.
05 - Bring mixture to a simmer. Reduce heat to low and let simmer uncovered for 10-15 minutes, until gravy has thickened and beef is tender.
06 - Stir in Worcestershire sauce and season with salt and pepper to taste. Remove from heat and garnish with chopped fresh parsley if desired.

# Notes:

01 - Serve hot with sautéed asparagus or roasted broccoli and French baguettes with sweet cream butter on the side.
