# Ingredients:

→ Main Ingredients

01 - Dry French bread, cut into cubes, approximately 3/4 of a 9x13 inch casserole dish (suggested alternatives: sourdough, challah, croissants, or whole wheat bread)
02 - 8 large eggs
03 - 2 cups 2% milk (alternatives: almond milk or oat milk for dairy-free option)
04 - 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
05 - 1 teaspoon cinnamon powder
06 - 1/4 cup brown sugar
07 - 1 cup sliced fresh strawberries (alternatives: blackberries, raspberries)
08 - 1 cup fresh blueberries
09 - Powdered sugar for dusting (optional)
10 - High-quality maple syrup for serving

# Instructions:

01 - Cut the dry French bread into cubes and fill approximately 3/4 of a greased 9x13 inch casserole dish. Grease the dish with oil or butter to ensure easy removal after baking.
02 - In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the eggs, 2% milk, vanilla extract, cinnamon powder, and brown sugar until well combined.
03 - Pour the egg mixture evenly over the bread cubes in the casserole dish. Top with sliced strawberries, blueberries, or any other preferred berries.
04 - Cover the casserole dish tightly with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 4 hours or overnight to allow the bread to soak up the egg mixture.
05 - Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Remove the casserole dish from the refrigerator and bake for 35-50 minutes. Check at the 35-minute mark and continue baking until the edges are crispy and the center is moist but set.
06 - Sprinkle the baked casserole with powdered sugar and drizzle generously with high-quality maple syrup before serving. Pair with bacon or other breakfast sides if desired.

# Notes:

01 - For best results, use dry or day-old bread to ensure it absorbs the egg mixture properly.
02 - Bake times may vary based on factors such as oven accuracy, bread dryness, and how well the mixture has been absorbed. Adjust bake time accordingly.
