Blackberry Crumb Bars (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

→ Crust

01 - 1 cup unsalted butter, melted
02 - 3 cups all-purpose flour
03 - 1 tsp baking powder
04 - ½ tsp cinnamon
05 - ½ cup granulated sugar
06 - ¾ cup brown sugar
07 - 2 large eggs
08 - 1 tsp almond extract

→ Filling

09 - ¼ cup granulated sugar
10 - 1 Tbsp lemon juice
11 - 1½ Tbsp cornstarch
12 - 4 cups blackberries, fresh or frozen

# Instructions:

01 - Preheat oven to 375°F. Spray 9"x13" baking pan with nonstick spray and line bottom with parchment paper.
02 - Combine melted butter, flour, baking powder, cinnamon, sugar and brown sugar. Add eggs and almond extract; stir well.
03 - Reserve 1½ cups of mixture for topping. Press remaining mixture into prepared pan.
04 - Whisk together sugar, lemon juice and cornstarch. Gently stir in blackberries and spread over base.
05 - Sprinkle reserved crumble mixture on top. Bake 40-45 minutes until golden brown. Cool completely before slicing.

# Notes:

01 - Can use fresh or frozen blackberries
02 - Larger chunks in the crumb topping are desirable
