Refreshing black tea infused with homemade cherry syrup, vanilla and butter extracts for a dessert-inspired summer beverage.

# Ingredients:

→ Homemade Cherry Syrup

01 - 1 cup frozen pitted cherries
02 - ⅓ cup granulated sugar
03 - ¼ cup water
04 - Pinch of salt
05 - 1 teaspoon lemon juice
06 - 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
07 - 1 teaspoon butter extract
08 - ½ teaspoon cake batter extract (optional)

→ Cherry Pie Iced Tea

09 - 2 cups unsweetened black tea
10 - 4 tablespoons cherry pie syrup
11 - Fresh cherries for garnish

# Directions:

01 - Add the cherries, sugar, water, and salt to a saucepan and cook. Mash the cherries as they soften and continue to cook until the liquid is thickened slightly. It will thicken more as it cools.
02 - Strain the syrup from the cherries. Press the cherries against a fine mesh strainer to get as much of the liquid as possible.
03 - Discard the cherries. Stir in the lemon juice, vanilla extract and butter extract. Set aside to cool.
04 - Stir four tablespoons of the syrup into 2 cups of cold unsweetened black tea. Recipe can be doubled or halved as needed.
05 - Serve ice cold, preferably with fresh cherries as garnish!

# Notes:

01 - The homemade cherry syrup can be stored in a sealed container in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks.
