Cornbread Dressing Side Dish (Print)

A perfectly moist and golden cornbread dressing packed with savory herbs and flavor.

# Ingredients:

01 - 2 cups chopped onions
02 - 2 cups chopped celery
03 - 1/2 cup butter
04 - 4 cups finely crumbled toasted bread
05 - 4 cups finely crumbled cornbread
06 - 1 tablespoon salt
07 - 2 teaspoons freshly ground black pepper
08 - 1 tablespoon dried sage
09 - 2 teaspoons poultry seasoning
10 - Turkey broth, as needed
11 - 4 large eggs, beaten

# Directions:

01 - Melt butter in a skillet; add the onions and celery and saute until tender.
02 - In a large bowl, combine the toasted bread and cornbread, mixing thoroughly.
03 - Add the sauteed onions and celery along with their cooking liquid, salt, pepper, sage, and poultry seasoning. Mix well.
04 - Using a bulb baster, add just enough turkey broth to create a very moist mixture. Stir in the beaten eggs.
05 - Scrape the mixture into a large greased baking pan or dish. Bake in a 400°F oven until the top is nicely browned, approximately 30-40 minutes.

01 - For a richer flavor, use giblet broth from a roasted turkey.
