Cowboy Tater Tot Casserole (Print)

Crispy tater tots layered over seasoned ground beef, bacon and corn in a creamy cheese sauce - pure comfort food with Western flair.

# Ingredients:

→ Meat

01 - 225g ground beef (85/15 fat content)
02 - 120g bacon, cooked and crumbled

→ Dairy

03 - 60ml sour cream
04 - 80ml whole milk
05 - 120g sharp cheddar cheese, shredded and divided

→ Vegetables & Frozen

06 - 900g frozen tater tots
07 - 160g corn kernels

→ Condiments & Seasoning

08 - 160g condensed mushroom soup
09 - 1 teaspoon onion powder
10 - 0.5 teaspoon black pepper

# Directions:

01 - Preheat oven to 190°C. Lightly grease a 23x33 centimetre baking dish.
02 - Heat a large skillet over medium heat. Add ground beef, breaking it apart with a spatula. Cook until completely browned.
03 - Add corn, half the cheddar, condensed mushroom soup, milk, black pepper, crumbled bacon, sour cream, and onion powder to the beef. Mix thoroughly until well combined.
04 - Transfer beef mixture to prepared baking dish, spreading evenly. Sprinkle a portion of the remaining cheese over the mixture. Arrange frozen tater tots in a single layer on top, ensuring complete coverage.
05 - Bake uncovered for 40-45 minutes until tater tots are crispy and golden brown.
06 - Remove from oven, sprinkle remaining cheese over the hot tater tots, and return to oven for 5 minutes until cheese is melted.

# Notes:

01 - For best results, allow the casserole to rest for 5-10 minutes before serving to set properly.
