Creamy Sausage Bow Tie Pasta (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

→ Pasta and Protein

01 - 12 ounces bow tie pasta
02 - 1 pound mild Italian sausage, casings removed

→ Produce

03 - 1/2 cup diced onion
04 - 4 cloves garlic, minced
05 - 1 cup packed spinach leaves, cut into thin strips
06 - Fresh parsley, minced (optional)

→ Sauce

07 - 28 ounces Italian-style plum tomatoes, drained and chopped
08 - 1 1/2 cups heavy cream
09 - 2 tablespoons olive oil
10 - 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)

# Instructions:

01 - Bring large pot of water to boil. Cook bow tie pasta according to package directions; drain.
02 - Heat olive oil in large skillet. Cook and crumble sausage with red pepper flakes over medium-high heat until browned.
03 - Add onion and garlic to sausage. Cook until onion is tender.
04 - Add tomatoes and heavy cream. Simmer until mixture thickens, about 10 minutes.
05 - Add spinach and cook 3 minutes more. Stir in cooked pasta. Garnish with parsley if desired.

# Notes:

01 - Can use any type of Italian sausage (mild, sweet, or hot)
02 - Remove sausage from casings before cooking
03 - Leftovers reheat well
