# Ingredients:

01 - 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour.

05 - 3/4 cup granulated sugar.
06 - 1 large egg, room temperature.
07 - 2 teaspoons vanilla extract.
08 - 1/4-1/2 teaspoon almond extract (optional).
09 - Royal icing or glaze.
10 - Assorted sprinkles.

# Instructions:

01 - Whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt in medium bowl.
02 - Beat butter and sugar with mixer until creamy, about 2 minutes.
03 - Add egg, vanilla, and optional almond extract, beating until well combined.
04 - Mix dry ingredients into wet ingredients on low speed.
05 - Divide dough in half and roll each portion to 1/4-inch thickness.
06 - Stack rolled dough between parchment and refrigerate 1-2 hours.
07 - Preheat oven to 350°F and line baking sheets with parchment.
08 - Cut chilled dough into shapes and place 3 inches apart on sheets.
09 - Bake 11-12 minutes until edges are lightly browned.
10 - Cool on sheet 5 minutes before transferring to cooling rack.
