Garlic Parmesan Dinner Rolls (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

→ Dough ingredients

01 - 1¼ cups warm water (95-105 degrees)
02 - ¼ cup granulated sugar
03 - 2 tablespoons instant or platinum yeast
04 - ⅓ cup canola oil
05 - 1 teaspoon salt
06 - 1 large egg
07 - 3½ cups all-purpose flour

→ Topping ingredients

08 - 4 tablespoons melted butter
09 - 2 tablespoons granulated garlic
10 - ¼ cup shredded or grated Parmesan cheese
11 - 2 teaspoons parsley

# Instructions:

01 - Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a non-stick liner and set aside.
02 - In a large bowl, combine yeast with warm water and sugar. Allow the mixture to proof for approximately 2-5 minutes until frothy.
03 - Add canola oil, salt, egg, and flour to the yeast mixture. Mix until well combined, adding a little more flour if the dough is too sticky.
04 - Divide the dough into 16 equal pieces and shape each piece into a roll.
05 - Place the rolls on the prepared baking sheet and let them rise for approximately 5-10 minutes in a warm place.
06 - Brush the raised rolls with melted butter and sprinkle with granulated garlic, Parmesan cheese, and parsley.
07 - Preheat the oven to 375°F and bake the rolls for 18-20 minutes until golden brown.
08 - Spread additional melted butter on top of the baked rolls before serving.

# Notes:

01 - Proofing yeast is most effective between 95-105°F. Avoid exceeding 115°F to prevent killing the yeast.
02 - Kneading gluten into the dough makes bread light and fluffy, but this recipe requires minimal kneading.
03 - For a slightly richer taste, substitute water with milk and egg with fat-free Greek yogurt as suggested by a reader.
