Gingerbread Syrup for Coffee (Print)

Warm spiced syrup to enrich your coffee with notes of ginger, cinnamon, and vanilla.

# Ingredients:

01 - 1 cup water
02 - 1 cup brown sugar
03 - 1/2 cup granulated sugar
04 - 1 tablespoon ground ginger
05 - 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
06 - 1/2 teaspoon ground cloves
07 - 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
08 - 1 tablespoon vanilla extract

# Directions:

01 - In a medium saucepan combine the water, brown sugar, and granulated sugar over medium heat. Stir gently until the sugars are completely dissolved.
02 - Once the sugar mixture begins to simmer, reduce the heat to low.
03 - Add the ground ginger, ground cinnamon, ground cloves, and ground nutmeg to the saucepan. Stir well to combine.
04 - Allow the mixture to simmer for about 10 minutes, stirring occasionally. This will help the flavors meld together.
05 - After simmering, remove the saucepan from heat and let the syrup cool slightly.
06 - Stir in the vanilla extract to enhance the flavor of the syrup.
07 - Once cooled completely, transfer the syrup to a clean glass jar or bottle with a tight-fitting lid.
08 - Store the gingerbread syrup in the refrigerator for up to one month.
