Choose a short rocks glass and fill it with crushed ice to chill while you prepare the cocktail.

In a cocktail shaker, combine vodka, coffee liqueur, and gingerbread syrup. Fill the shaker with ice and secure the lid.

Shake the mixture vigorously for about 15 seconds until well blended and chilled.

Remove the chilled rocks glass from the freezer or discard the ice used for chilling. Strain the mixture into the glass over fresh crushed ice.

In a separate mixing bowl, gently whisk the heavy cream until slightly thickened but still pourable.

Slowly pour the whipped cream over the back of a spoon onto the top of the cocktail to create a layered effect.
