Grandma's Best Chocolate Cookies (Print)

# Ingredients:

01 - 1 cup softened butter
02 - 1 cup white sugar
03 - 1 cup packed brown sugar
04 - 2 eggs
05 - 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
06 - 3 cups all-purpose flour
07 - 1 teaspoon baking soda
08 - 2 teaspoons hot water
09 - 1/2 teaspoon salt
10 - 2 cups semisweet chocolate chips

# Directions:

01 - In a mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter, white sugar, and brown sugar until smooth.
02 - Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla extract.
03 - Dissolve the baking soda in hot water and add it to the mixture along with the salt. Gradually stir in the flour until well incorporated.
04 - Gently fold the semisweet chocolate chips into the dough.
05 - Preheat the oven to 175°C (350°F) and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
06 - Drop spoonfuls of dough onto the prepared baking sheets and bake for 8-10 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown.
07 - Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheets for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
