Caramel Sauce (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

01 - 1 cup sugar.
02 - 1/4 cup water.
03 - 3/4 cup heavy cream.
04 - 3 tablespoons butter.
05 - 1 teaspoon vanilla extract.

# Instructions:

01 - Heat sugar and water in a small saucepan over medium heat to melt the sugar. Continue cooking and swirling the pan until the sugar turns amber in color.
02 - Whisk in heavy cream. The mixture will bubble up violently briefly. Continue whisking until the sauce is smooth.
03 - Whisk in butter and vanilla extract. Use as desired.

# Notes:

01 - Add 1 teaspoon sea salt at the end for salted caramel variation.
