Italian Sausage Bow Tie Pasta (Print)

Bow tie pasta with savory sausage, colorful peppers, and herbs in a light tomato sauce, topped with Parmesan.

# Ingredients:

→ Pasta

01 - 340g bow tie pasta

→ Protein

02 - 450g Italian sausage

→ Vegetables

03 - 1 tablespoon olive oil
04 - 1 onion, diced
05 - 3 cloves garlic, minced
06 - 1 red bell pepper, diced
07 - 1 yellow bell pepper, diced
08 - 1 can (410g) diced tomatoes

→ Liquids

09 - 120ml chicken broth

→ Seasonings

10 - 1 teaspoon dried basil
11 - 1 teaspoon dried oregano
12 - Salt and pepper to taste
13 - Grated Parmesan cheese, for serving

# Directions:

01 - Cook the bow tie pasta according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
02 - Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add Italian sausage and cook until browned and cooked through, breaking it into crumbles as it cooks. Transfer sausage to a plate and set aside.
03 - In the same skillet, add diced onion and bell peppers. Cook until softened, about 5 minutes. Add garlic and cook for an additional minute until fragrant.
04 - Stir in diced tomatoes with their juices, chicken broth, dried basil, and dried oregano. Bring mixture to a simmer.
05 - Return the cooked sausage to the skillet. Simmer for 5-7 minutes, allowing flavors to meld. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
06 - Add the cooked bow tie pasta to the skillet and toss until well combined with the sauce and sausage.
07 - Serve hot, garnished with freshly grated Parmesan cheese.

01 - For a spicier version, use hot Italian sausage or add red pepper flakes to taste.
