Jalapeño Cheese Crisps (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

01 - 1 large fresh jalapeño pepper.
02 - 1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese.

# Instructions:

01 - Preheat your oven to 350 degrees F. Line a rimmed baking sheet with parchment paper to ensure the crisps don't stick.
02 - Carefully seed the jalapeño, using gloves if necessary to prevent any chili burns, then slice it into thin rings.
03 - Measure out a tablespoon of shredded cheese and place it on the prepared baking sheet, forming 16 small mounds.
04 - Gently press down the cheese mounds with your fingers, spreading them slightly apart to allow for expansion.
05 - Place a single slice of jalapeño in the center of each cheese mound for that extra spicy zing.
06 - Bake in the oven until the crisps are deeply golden brown, approximately 12 minutes.
07 - Allow the crisps to cool and firm on the baking sheet for 1-2 minutes before using a small spatula to transfer them to a serving platter.

01 - This delightful snack is lightly adapted from a recipe on buttoni.wordpress.com.
02 - For safety and to prevent skin irritation, wearing gloves while handling jalapeños is highly recommended.
