Jalapeno Popper Grilled Cheese (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

→ Main Ingredients

01 - 4 large jalapenos
02 - 4 tablespoons cream cheese
03 - 2 slices cheddar cheese
04 - 2 slices Monterey Jack cheese
05 - 4 slices thick-cut smoked bacon, cooked
06 - 4 slices thick bakery-style white bread
07 - 2 tablespoons butter
08 - 2 tablespoons chopped fresh cilantro (optional)

# Instructions:

01 - Cut the jalapenos in half lengthwise and remove the seeds and membranes using gloves. Stuff each half with cream cheese and place them on a cookie sheet. Bake at 375°F (190°C) until the jalapenos are semi-soft, the cheese is bubbly, and slightly browned, about 15-20 minutes.
02 - Lay out the bread slices. Place one slice of cheddar cheese on two slices of bread and one slice of Monterey Jack cheese on the other two. Slice the cooked jalapenos into bite-sized pieces and divide between the bread slices with cheddar. Place the bacon slices on the ones with Monterey Jack. Sprinkle chopped cilantro on one side, if desired, and combine to make two sandwiches.
03 - Spread butter evenly on the outside of each sandwich. Place sandwiches in a skillet over medium-low heat, butter-side down. Add more butter on top as needed. Grill each side until golden brown and the cheese is melted, about 3-4 minutes per side.

# Notes:

01 - Ensure you use gloves when handling jalapenos to avoid irritation and thoroughly wash your hands afterward.
02 - Use high-quality smoked nitrate-free bacon for the best flavor.
03 - If you prefer firmer jalapenos, reduce the cooking time by 10 minutes.
04 - Choose thick bakery-style white bread, Italian bread, or European Artisan Bread for a sturdy sandwich base.
