Preheat oven to 250°F. Line a baking sheet with a silicone baking mat or parchment paper. Set aside.

In a large bowl, beat the egg whites with the salt until frothy.

Add the Jello gelatin and sugar to the egg whites. Beat until stiff peaks form.

Gently mix in the vinegar. If using, stir in mini chocolate chips.

Spoon or pipe the egg mixture onto the prepared baking sheet. Top with sprinkles, if desired.

Bake for 30 minutes without opening the oven door. Turn the oven off and leave the meringues inside for an additional 20-30 minutes.

Remove from the oven and allow the meringues to cool completely before serving or storing.
