Juicy Contessa Turkey Burger (Print)

# Ingredients:

01 - 450 g ground turkey thighs
02 - 1 tsp garlic powder
03 - 1 tsp onion powder
04 - 0.5 cup fresh parsley, chopped
05 - 1 tbsp Dijon mustard
06 - 1 tbsp mayonnaise
07 - 0.25 tsp freshly ground black pepper
08 - 1 tsp Diamond Crystal kosher salt
09 - 1 tsp smoked paprika
10 - 4 tbsp olive oil

# Directions:

01 - In a medium bowl, gently combine the ground turkey thighs, garlic powder, onion powder, chopped fresh parsley, Dijon mustard, mayonnaise, black pepper, kosher salt, and smoked paprika.
02 - Use your hands to mix just until everything is combined. Avoid overmixing to prevent tough burgers.
03 - Divide the mixture into four equal portions. Shape each portion into a patty about 2.5 cm thick. Make them slightly wider than your burger buns to account for shrinkage during cooking.
04 - Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat until hot.
05 - Carefully place the patties in the hot skillet. Cook for about 4-5 minutes per side, until nicely browned and cooked through to an internal temperature of 74°C. Avoid pressing down on the burgers while cooking to retain juices.
06 - Transfer the cooked burgers to a plate and let them rest for 1-2 minutes to allow juices to redistribute.
07 - Assemble burgers on your favorite buns with preferred toppings such as lettuce, tomato, onion, pickles, and cheese.

01 - Using turkey thigh meat provides more fat than breast meat, which helps keep the burgers juicy.
02 - The combination of mayonnaise and Dijon mustard acts as a binding agent while adding moisture to the patties.
