Add star anise, crushed cardamom pods, and cinnamon stick. Boil for another minute.

Reduce heat and simmer for 20-30 minutes until liquid reduces by half, intensifying flavor and color.

Stir in salt, then add milk and bring to boil while stirring constantly. Watch as tea turns pink.
