# Directions:

01 - Slice the smoked sausage or kielbasa into bite-sized pieces about 1½ inches thick. Ensure the pieces are uniform for even cooking.
02 - Cut each bacon slice in half. Wrap one piece of bacon around each sausage slice, overlapping slightly. Secure with a toothpick to create the signature kilted look.
03 - Place the wrapped sausage bites seam side down on a wire rack set over a baking sheet. This allows fat to drip away and helps the bacon cook evenly.
04 - Sprinkle brown sugar generously over each bite or drizzle with honey or maple syrup. Optionally add black pepper or chili flakes for added flavor.
05 - Bake at 375°F (190°C) for 30–35 minutes, turning once halfway through, until the bacon is crispy and caramelized.
06 - Remove from oven and let cool slightly. Serve warm with toothpicks.
