Million Dollar Lasagna (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

→ For the Pasta and Meat

01 - 12 lasagna noodles
02 - 1-1/4 lbs Italian sausage or ground beef
03 - 1 (24-oz) jar spaghetti sauce
04 - 2 (8-oz) cans tomato sauce
05 - 1 tsp Italian seasoning

→ For the Cheese Mixture

06 - 1 (24-oz) container cottage cheese
07 - 1 (8-oz) block cream cheese, softened
08 - 1/4 cup sour cream
09 - 1 egg, beaten
10 - 1 Tbsp dried parsley

→ For Layering

11 - 1 lb mozzarella cheese slices
12 - 1/2 cup grated parmesan cheese

# Instructions:

01 - Preheat oven to 375ºF. Cook lasagna noodles according to package directions, drain and set aside.
02 - Brown sausage in skillet over medium heat, drain. Add spaghetti sauce, tomato sauce, and Italian seasoning. Simmer 5-10 minutes until thickened.
03 - Combine cottage cheese, cream cheese, sour cream, beaten egg, and dried parsley in a bowl.
04 - Spray 9x13-inch pan with cooking spray. Spread 1 cup meat sauce, layer 6 lasagna noodles lengthwise and overlapping.
05 - Layer half cottage cheese mixture, third of mozzarella, half meat sauce, and 1/4 cup parmesan. Repeat layers, ending with remaining cheese. Cover with foil.
06 - Bake covered for 25 minutes, then uncovered for 30 minutes until bubbly. Let stand 15 minutes before serving.

01 - Can be prepared ahead and frozen
02 - Thaw completely before baking if frozen
03 - Can substitute different meats
04 - Shredded mozzarella can replace slices
