Golden Roasted Cabbage Steaks (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

01 - 1 large green or red cabbage
02 - 3 tablespoons olive oil or melted butter
03 - 1 teaspoon garlic powder
04 - 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
05 - ½ teaspoon onion powder
06 - ½ teaspoon dried thyme
07 - 1 teaspoon salt (adjust to taste)
08 - ½ teaspoon black pepper
09 - Optional: grated Parmesan cheese, red pepper flakes, fresh parsley

# Instructions:

01 - Set your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly grease it to prevent sticking.
02 - Remove any wilted or damaged outer leaves from the cabbage. Slice the cabbage into ¾-inch thick rounds or 'steaks' using a sharp knife. Keep the core intact to hold the steaks together.
03 - In a small bowl, mix olive oil, garlic powder, smoked paprika, onion powder, thyme, salt, and black pepper. Brush the mixture generously onto both sides of each cabbage steak.
04 - Place the cabbage steaks on the prepared baking sheet in a single layer. Roast in the oven for 25–30 minutes, flipping halfway through. Remove when the edges are golden brown and crispy.
05 - Let the cabbage steaks cool for a couple of minutes. Sprinkle with optional toppings like Parmesan, red pepper flakes, or fresh parsley before serving.
06 - Preheat your air fryer to 375°F (190°C) for 3–5 minutes. Follow the same steps to slice and season the cabbage. Cook in batches if needed, placing the steaks in a single layer in the air fryer basket. Air fry for 10–15 minutes, flipping halfway through, until crisp and golden.

# Notes:

01 - Choose a fresh, firm cabbage with tightly packed leaves for even slicing and better texture.
02 - Do not overcrowd the pan; space between steaks ensures even cooking and crisp edges.
03 - Experiment with spices like curry powder or Cajun seasoning to vary the flavor.
