Peanut Butter Chocolate Hearts (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

→ Filling

01 - 1 cup creamy peanut butter, room temperature
02 - ¼ cup unsalted butter, melted
03 - 2 tablespoons brown sugar
04 - 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
05 - ¼ teaspoon salt
06 - 2 cups powdered sugar

→ Coating

07 - 10-12 ounces chocolate, chopped in small pieces

# Instructions:

01 - Line 8x8 inch dish with parchment paper, leaving overhang on sides for easy removal.
02 - Stir together peanut butter, melted butter, brown sugar, vanilla, and salt until sugar dissolves. Gradually mix in powdered sugar.
03 - Press mixture into prepared dish. Smooth top to create ½ inch thick layer.
04 - Place in freezer until firm enough for cutting.
05 - Cut out hearts using small heart-shaped cookie cutter. Place on parchment-lined tray. Reuse scraps to make more hearts.
06 - Return hearts to freezer until firm.
07 - Melt chocolate or candy coating. Line another tray with parchment paper.
08 - Working with a few hearts at a time from freezer, dip each into melted chocolate using a fork. Tap fork to remove excess chocolate.
09 - Place dipped hearts on parchment paper. Refrigerate until chocolate has set.

01 - Makes about 30 hearts with 1½-inch cutter
02 - Store in refrigerator or freeze for longer storage
03 - Work with small batches from freezer as filling softens quickly
