Pumpkin Treats for Dogs (Print)

# Ingredients:

01 - 1/2 cup pumpkin puree
02 - 1/4 cup applesauce
03 - 3 tablespoons peanut butter (xylitol-free)
04 - 1 egg
05 - 2 cups whole wheat flour
06 - 1/4 teaspoon salt
07 - 1/4 teaspoon baking soda

# Directions:

01 - Preheat your oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit and prepare a sheet pan by lining it with parchment paper.
02 - In a mixing bowl, use a stand or hand mixer to beat together the pumpkin puree, applesauce, peanut butter, and egg until well combined.
03 - Gradually mix in the whole wheat flour, salt, and baking soda until just combined.
04 - On a floured surface, roll out the dough to about 1/4-1/2 inch thickness.
05 - Use a bone-shaped cookie cutter to cut out the treats and place them evenly on the prepared sheet pan.
06 - Bake in the oven for 15-25 minutes, depending on how crunchy you want the treats to be.
07 - Allow the treats to cool completely on a rack before serving to your furry friend.

# Notes:

01 - Make sure the peanut butter you use does not contain xylitol, as it is toxic to dogs.
02 - Store these treats in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to a week.
