→ Main Ingredients

01 - 3 pounds sirloin steak, cut into bite-sized pieces
02 - 2 teaspoons kosher salt
03 - 1 teaspoon black pepper
04 - 1 Tablespoon vegetable oil
05 - 1 small sweet onion, thinly sliced
06 - 3 cloves garlic, thinly sliced
07 - 1 cup unsalted beef stock
08 - 1 ounce packet au jus gravy mix
09 - 4 tablespoons unsalted butter, thinly sliced

# Instructions:

01 - Place the sirloin steak pieces into a large bowl. Season with kosher salt and black pepper, tossing the pieces to coat evenly.
02 - Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add vegetable oil and allow it to get very hot. Sear the steak bites in batches until browned, adding more oil if necessary. Do not cook through.
03 - Transfer the seared steak bites to a 6-quart slow cooker. Add the sliced sweet onion and sliced garlic. Stir gently to combine.
04 - Pour the unsalted beef stock over the steak mixture in the slow cooker. Evenly sprinkle the au jus gravy mix over the top. Lay the slices of butter evenly over the mixture.
05 - Cover the slow cooker and cook on high for 3-4 hours or on low for 6-8 hours. Stir the mixture once an hour if possible.
06 - Serve the steak bites warm, optionally with mashed potatoes, egg noodles, or rice.
