Juicy Crispy Smash Burger (Print)

Juicy smash patties with crispy edges, ready in minutes. Perfect for any burger lover!

# Ingredients:

→ Seasoning

01 - ½ teaspoon salt
02 - ½ teaspoon ground black pepper
03 - ½ teaspoon garlic powder
04 - ½ teaspoon onion powder

→ Burger Components

05 - 24 ounces (680 g) ground beef 80/20
06 - 1 tablespoon (15 ml) vegetable oil
07 - 8 slices American cheese

# Directions:

01 - In a small mixing bowl, combine the salt, pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder to create your seasoning mix.
02 - Divide the meat into eight equal portions, each weighing approximately 3 ounces, and shape them into balls.
03 - Preheat your flat-top grill and lightly coat it with vegetable oil to prevent sticking.
04 - Lightly sprinkle the seasoning mix over the top of each meatball.
05 - Place the meatballs on the grill, seasoned side facing down. Cover each meatball with a piece of parchment paper and use a heavy weight to press them into thin patties, paying extra attention to flatten the edges thoroughly.
06 - Once flattened, season the exposed side of each patty.
07 - Allow the patties to cook until the edges brown and the meat looks lacey and crispy, about 2 minutes.
08 - Carefully slide a scraper under each patty and flip it over. Place a slice of cheese on top of each patty immediately after flipping. Continue cooking until the cheese is thoroughly melted, about 2 minutes.
09 - For double-stack burgers, place one patty on top of another with the cheese in between. Remove the patties from the grill and serve immediately.

# Notes:

01 - Smash the patties only one time immediately after placing them on the griddle to ensure proper browning and caramelization.
02 - Press the burgers thin enough so the edges are especially crisp, making them ideal for Smash Burgers.
03 - For even and thin burgers, use a bacon press to add weight to your spatula.
