Southern Banana Cobbler Delight (Print)

Delight in a warm, golden banana cobbler layered with oats and buttery pecans.

# Ingredients:

01 - ¾ cup packed light brown sugar
02 - ½ cup self-rising flour
03 - ½ cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, softened to room temperature
04 - 1 cup uncooked old-fashioned oats
05 - ½ cup chopped pecans

→ Filling

06 - 1 cup self-rising flour
07 - 1 cup sugar
08 - 1 cup milk
09 - 2 teaspoons banana extract (optional)
10 - ½ cup (1 stick) butter, melted
11 - 4 ripe bananas, sliced

# Directions:

01 - Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Spray a 2-quart (or 9x9-inch) baking dish with nonstick cooking spray.
02 - In a bowl, using a fork, stir together the brown sugar, self-rising flour, and softened butter until crumbly. Then stir in the oats and pecans. Set aside.
03 - In a medium bowl, whisk together self-rising flour, sugar, and milk just until blended. Whisk in melted butter. Pour the mixture into the prepared baking dish.
04 - Layer the banana slices evenly on top of the filling.
05 - Crumble the streusel topping evenly over the banana layer.
06 - Bake for 45-50 minutes, until golden brown and the cobbler no longer jiggles.
07 - Allow to cool slightly and serve warm. Optional: Add a scoop of vanilla ice cream and garnish with fresh banana slices.
