Steak Queso Rice Delight (Print)

# Ingredients:

01 - 450g sirloin, flank, or ribeye steak strips
02 - 15ml olive oil
03 - 5g salt
04 - 2.5g freshly ground black pepper
05 - 3g garlic powder
06 - 1.5g paprika
07 - 1.5g ground cumin

→ Fragrant Rice

08 - 200g jasmine or basmati rice
09 - 480ml beef broth
10 - 15g unsalted butter
11 - 2.5g salt
12 - 2.5g garlic powder
13 - 0.5g smoked paprika

→ Queso Sauce

14 - 100g shredded white cheddar cheese
15 - 60g shredded Monterey Jack cheese
16 - 180ml heavy cream
17 - 30g cream cheese
18 - 2.5g garlic powder
19 - 0.5g cayenne pepper (optional)

→ Finishing Touches

20 - 8g fresh cilantro, finely chopped
21 - 1 jalapeño, thinly sliced
22 - 15g sour cream
23 - 80g diced tomatoes

# Directions:

01 - Combine beef broth, butter, salt, garlic powder, and smoked paprika in a medium saucepan and bring to a boil. Add rice, reduce heat to low, cover securely, and simmer for 15–18 minutes until liquid is absorbed. Fluff gently with a fork and set aside.
02 - In a bowl, evenly coat steak strips with salt, black pepper, garlic powder, paprika, and cumin. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat until shimmering. Sear steak strips in a single layer for 3–4 minutes per side until a deep crust forms and desired doneness is achieved. Remove from heat and let rest for 5 minutes.
03 - In a small saucepan, warm heavy cream over low heat until gentle bubbles appear at the edges. Blend in cream cheese, whisking until fully melted. Gradually add shredded white cheddar and Monterey Jack, stirring constantly to integrate until silky smooth. Incorporate garlic powder and cayenne, if desired. Maintain sauce on the lowest heat, stirring occasionally.
04 - Distribute the fragrant rice among serving bowls to create a base. Layer with rested steak slices and generously ladle over the warm queso sauce, allowing sauce to pool into the rice.
05 - Garnish each bowl with cilantro, jalapeño slices, diced tomatoes, and a touch of sour cream if desired. Serve promptly while hot.
