Strawberry Danish (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

01 - 4 cups sliced strawberries.
02 - 1 tablespoon cornstarch.
03 - 1 tablespoon sugar.
04 - 8 oz cream cheese, soft.
05 - 1/2 cup powdered sugar.
06 - 1 teaspoon vanilla.
07 - 2 puff pastry sheets.
08 - 1 egg with 1 tsp water.
09 - For glaze: powdered sugar, vanilla, milk.
10 - 1/4 cup strawberry jam (optional).

# Instructions:

01 - Thaw pastry 30-45 minutes. Heat oven to 400°F. Mix berries with sugar and cornstarch, let sit 15 minutes.
02 - Beat cream cheese until smooth. Mix in powdered sugar and vanilla.
03 - Cut each sheet into 6 rectangles. Score borders but don't cut through.
04 - Spread cream cheese in centers, top with berries. Brush edges with egg wash, sprinkle with sugar.
05 - If dough's warm, chill 15 minutes. Bake 20-25 minutes until golden.
06 - Cool 5 minutes. Top with warm jam or vanilla glaze.
