Striped Candy Apples Delight (Print)

Discover vibrant striped candy apples with a crisp and sweet candy coating for gatherings.

# Ingredients:

01 - 6 small apples
02 - 6 wooden sticks or lollipop sticks
03 - 2 cups granulated sugar
04 - 0.5 cup light corn syrup
05 - 0.5 cup water
06 - Food coloring (two contrasting colors, e.g., red and white or orange and black)
07 - Edible glitter or sprinkles (optional)

# Directions:

01 - Wash and thoroughly dry the apples. Insert a wooden stick into the top of each apple.
02 - In a heavy-bottomed saucepan, combine the sugar, corn syrup, and water. Cook over medium-high heat, stirring until the sugar dissolves.
03 - Allow the mixture to reach 300°F (150°C) on a candy thermometer, without stirring, to form a hard crack stage.
04 - Divide the mixture evenly into two bowls and add a few drops of food coloring to each bowl to create two distinct colors.
05 - Carefully dip each apple in one color, then let it set slightly before drizzling or dipping the apple in the second color to create stripes. Use a spoon to control the amount of color on the second dip.
06 - Optionally, sprinkle edible glitter or sprinkles on the apples while the candy coating is still tacky.
07 - Place the apples on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper to cool and set completely.
