Tree Meringue Holiday Cookies (Print)

Crisp Christmas tree meringues with festive decorations.

01 - 3 large egg whites at room temperature
02 - ¾ cup granulated sugar
03 - ¼ teaspoon cream of tartar
04 - ½ teaspoon vanilla extract
05 - Green gel food coloring
06 - White gel food coloring
07 - Edible gold sugar pearls
08 - Edible red sugar pearls
09 - Edible gold star sprinkles

# Directions:

01 - Preheat the oven to 225°F (110°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
02 - In a clean bowl, beat the egg whites with cream of tartar until soft peaks form.
03 - Gradually add the sugar, one tablespoon at a time, beating until stiff peaks form and the mixture becomes glossy.
04 - Mix the vanilla extract into the meringue.
05 - Divide the meringue into two portions, tinting one green and leaving the other white.
06 - Transfer each meringue portion into separate piping bags fitted with star tips.
07 - Pipe the green meringue onto the baking sheet to create the tree base. Pipe the white meringue on top in smaller swirls to form a tiered Christmas tree shape.
08 - Decorate the trees with sugar pearls as ornaments and place a gold star sprinkle at the top.
09 - Bake the meringues for 1 ½ to 2 hours until dry and crisp.
10 - Turn off the oven and allow the cookies to cool inside with the door slightly open.
