In a mixing bowl, combine self-rising flour, sugar, milk, and vanilla extract until smooth and well blended.

Pour the melted butter into the bottom of a baking dish. Spread the flour mixture evenly over the butter. Do not stir.

Distribute the blackberries evenly on top of the batter.
