Banana Pudding Brownies (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

01 - 1/2 cup whole milk
02 - 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
03 - 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
04 - 1 large egg yolk
05 - 1 tablespoon unsalted butter
06 - 1 tablespoon vanilla extract

→ Banana Batter

07 - 6 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
08 - 1/2 cup light or dark brown sugar, packed
09 - 1/4 cup granulated sugar
10 - 1/2 cup overripe mashed banana
11 - 1 large egg yolk
12 - 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
13 - 1 cup all-purpose flour
14 - 1/4 teaspoon baking powder
15 - 1/2 teaspoon fine sea salt
16 - 1 cup vanilla wafer cookies, plus extra for top

# Instructions:

01 - Preheat oven to 350°F. Line 8x8 pan with parchment paper.
02 - Cook milk, sugar, flour, and egg yolk over medium-low heat, stirring until thickened, 5-8 minutes. Add butter and vanilla.
03 - Whisk melted butter with sugars. Add egg yolk, banana, vanilla. Fold in flour, baking powder, salt until just combined.
04 - Spread half batter in pan, top with wafers. Alternate dollops of remaining batter and pudding, swirl together. Add more wafers on top.
05 - Bake 30-35 minutes until toothpick comes out clean. Cool completely before cutting.
