Transfer the mixture to a lightly greased casserole dish, spreading it into an even layer. Cover with aluminum foil and bake in the preheated oven for 45 minutes.

Remove the foil, sprinkle shredded cheese over the top, and return to the oven. Bake uncovered for an additional 15 minutes or until the cheese is melted and bubbling.
