Classic Cheesy Broccoli Dish (Print)

Broccoli, rice, and cheddar baked to creamy perfection.

# Ingredients:

01 - 4 cups broccoli florets
02 - 2 cups cooked white rice
03 - 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese

→ Sauce Ingredients

04 - 4 tbsp butter
05 - 1 small onion, chopped
06 - 2 cups milk
07 - 3 tbsp all-purpose flour
08 - 1 tsp salt
09 - ½ tsp black pepper
10 - ½ tsp paprika

# Directions:

01 - Preheat oven to 375°F and grease a baking dish.
02 - Lightly steam broccoli for 3 to 4 minutes until tender-crisp, then set aside.
03 - In a saucepan, melt butter over medium heat. Add onion and cook until softened.
04 - Whisk in flour and cook for 1 minute. Slowly add milk while whisking constantly until thickened. Season with salt, pepper, and paprika. Stir in 1½ cups of cheddar cheese until melted.
05 - In a large bowl, combine cooked rice, steamed broccoli, and cheese sauce. Mix well, then transfer the mixture to the prepared baking dish.
06 - Top the casserole with the remaining cheddar cheese and bake for 30 to 35 minutes, or until bubbly and golden.
