Hot Dog Chili Recipe (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

01 - 1 pound lean ground beef (90/10).
02 - 1/3 cup water.
03 - 5 ounces tomato sauce.
04 - 1/2 cup ketchup.
05 - 1 tablespoon yellow mustard.
06 - 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce.
07 - 2 teaspoons chili powder.
08 - 1/2 teaspoon salt.
09 - 1/2 teaspoon black pepper.
10 - 1/2 teaspoon sugar.
11 - 1/2 teaspoon onion powder.

# Instructions:

01 - Heat medium skillet over medium heat and add ground beef with water.
02 - Break ground beef into smallest possible pieces while cooking, ensuring very fine texture.
03 - Drain excess water and grease from cooked beef thoroughly.
04 - Transfer finely broken beef to slow cooker insert.
05 - Add tomato sauce and ketchup to beef in slow cooker.
06 - Stir in yellow mustard and Worcestershire sauce until well combined.
07 - Add chili powder, salt, pepper, sugar and onion powder.
08 - Mix all ingredients thoroughly until completely combined.
09 - Cover slow cooker and set to LOW temperature.
10 - Cook for 2 to 2 1/2 hours until flavors are well melded.
11 - Stir occasionally during cooking if possible.
12 - Check consistency and thin with water if needed before serving.
13 - Keep warm in slow cooker for serving.
14 - Store leftovers in airtight container in refrigerator.
15 - Reheat portions as needed, thinning with water if too thick.
