Melt butter in large pot over medium heat.

Add sliced cabbage and toss with butter.

Sauté for 5 minutes until slightly wilted.

Sprinkle sugar over cabbage and toss.

Add balsamic vinegar and bring to simmer.

Reduce heat, cover and cook for 30-45 minutes.

Stir occasionally until tender but not mushy.

Season with salt and pepper to taste.
